# What sauces go on döner?

## What distinguishes the sauces?

Yogurt or cultured dairy can provide tang; garlic may appear in a yogurt sauce, mayonnaise-style sauce, or both. Herb sauces may be dairy-based rather than vegan. Chili sauce can range from a mild red sauce to a genuinely hot preparation. A white sauce is not automatically tzatziki, and a garlic sauce is not automatically dairy-free.
